Best Cellars New York, the very first Best Cellars - and aptly dubbed "the BC Mother Ship" - opened its doors to the happy wine-drinking public on November 18, 1996. Nestled in New York's tony Upper East Side, the store attracts neighbors from Carnegie Hill, as well as the thousands of New York City folk that traverse the 86th Street subway stop each week. At BCNY we offer free nightly tastings from 5pm - 8pm every Monday through Friday. Each week these tastings center around a theme, making the tasting both fun and informational. Examples from the past include Celebrating Earth Day Week - a week of exploring the impacts of the soil on the wine; or Academy Award Week - a week of tastings spun around the Oscar nominees, to name a couple. On Saturdays we feature free wine and food pairings with New York City's hottest chefs whipping up their finest fare, paired with Best Cellars wine. These weekly tastings happen between 2pm and 4pm. The New York team enjoys taking Best Cellars on the road, offering a great BC experience on your turf.
